4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. 17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. 18 Now some are puffed up , as though I would not come to you. 13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend , I will eat no flesh while the world standeth , lest I make my brother to offend . 1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? 15 But I have used none of these things : neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die , than that any man should make my glorying void . 18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel , I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection : lest that by any means , when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. 29 Conscience , I say , not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 24 And when he had given thanks , he brake it, and said , Take , eat : this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat , tarry one for another. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned , and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth , but my understanding is unfruitful. 18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. 21 In the law it is written , With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. [The first epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi by Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus and Timotheus.]
