19 But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant but their power. 21 What do you desire? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness? 7 Yet I wish that all men were even as I myself am. However, each man has his own gift from God, one in this manner, and another in that. 32 But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; 36 But if any man thinks that he is acting unbecomingly toward his virgin daughter, if she is past her youth, and if it must be so, let him do what he wishes, he does not sin; let her marry. 39 A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

Avoid Israel's Mistakes

1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; 20 No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. 27 If one of the unbelievers invites you and you want to go, eat anything that is set before you without asking questions for conscience' sake. 3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

The Use of Spiritual Gifts

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware. 18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. 5 Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying. 19 however, in the church I desire to speak five words with my mind so that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue. 35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church. 38 But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. 7 For I do not wish to see you now just in passing; for I hope to remain with you for some time, if the Lord permits.
