21 And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived , and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD. 8 And when he numbered them in Bezek, the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand. 15 And Samuel arose , and gat him up from Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men. 17 Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered , behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer were not there. 2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. 4 And Saul gathered the people together , and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah. 18 And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge. 6 If thy father at all miss me, then say , David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family. 18 Then Jonathan said to David, To morrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed , because thy seat will be empty . 25 And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon a seat by the wall: and Jonathan arose , and Abner sat by Saul's side, and David's place was empty . 27 And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David's place was empty : and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day? 7 And now I have heard that thou hast shearers : now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel. 15 But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt , neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields: 21 Now David had said , Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good. 4 And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return , that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?
