As the LORD had declared,1 Nebuchadnezzar removed all the treasures2 from the temple of the LORD and from the royal palace, and took away all the gold articles3 that Solomon4 king of Israel had made for the temple of the LORD.
He carried into exile5 all Jerusalem: all the officers and fighting men,6 and all the craftsmen and artisans--a total of ten thousand. Only the poorest7 people of the land were left.
Nebuchadnezzar took Jehoiachin8 captive to Babylon. He also took from Jerusalem to Babylon the king's mother,9 his wives, his officials and the leading men10 of the land.
