2 It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent , and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance . 11 Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him: 31 And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier. 31 Then the king arose , and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent . 2 And Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner , and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead : 24 And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace. 12 And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still , he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still .
