4bGathering them together, He commanded them 3not to leaveJerusalem, but to wait for c4what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me;5for 5Johnbaptized with water, but you will be baptizeddwith the HolySpirite6not manydays from now ."6So when they had cometogether, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, 7is it at thistime You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
He said to them, "It is not for you to knowtimesorepochswhich8the Father has fixed by His ownauthority;8but you will receivepower9when the HolySpirit has come upon you; and you shall be 10My witnessesboth in Jerusalem, and in allJudea and 11Samaria, and even to 12the remotestpart of the earth."
And after He had saidthesethings, 13He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloudreceived Him out of their sight.
And as they were gazingintently into fthe sky while He was going, behold, 14twomen in whiteclothingstoodbeside them.
They alsosaid, "15Men of Galilee, why do you standlooking into gthe sky? ThisJesus, who 16has been taken up from you into heaven, will 17come in just the sameway as you have watched Him go into heaven."
