18Alas, you who are longing for the 1day of the LORD, For whatpurpose will the day of the LORD be to you? It will be 2darkness and not light;
As when a man3flees from a lion And a bearmeets him, aOr goeshome, leans his handagainst the wall And a snakebites him.
Will not the day of the LORD be 4darknessinstead of light, Even gloom with nobrightness in it?
"I hate, I 5reject your festivals, Nor do I b6delight in your solemnassemblies.
22"Eventhough you 7offer up to Me burntofferings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them; And I will not even look at the 8peaceofferings of your fatlings.
23"Takeaway from Me the noise of your songs; I will not even listen to the sound of your harps.
"But let 9justicerolldown like waters And righteousness like an ever-flowingstream.
"c10Did you present Me with sacrifices and grain offerings in the wilderness for fortyyears, O house of Israel?
"11You also carried along dSikkuth your king and eKiyyun, your images, fthe star of your godswhich you made for yourselves.
"Therefore, I will make you go into exilebeyondDamascus," says the LORD, whose name is the God of hosts.
