But now in Christ Jesus you who once1 were far away have been brought near2 through the blood of Christ.314
For he himself is our peace,4 who has made the two one5 and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
by abolishing in his flesh6 the law with its commandments and regulations.7 His purpose was to create in himself one8 new man out of the two, thus making peace,
and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross,9 by which he put to death their hostility.
He came and preached peace10 to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.1118
For through him we both have access12 to the Father13 by one Spirit.1419
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens,15 but fellow citizens16 with God's people and members of God's household,1720
built18 on the foundation19 of the apostles and prophets,20 with Christ Jesus himself21 as the chief cornerstone.2221
In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple23 in the Lord.
And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.24
