Joshua son of Nun1 and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes27
and said to the entire Israelite assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good.38
If the LORD is pleased with us,4 he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey,5 and will give it to us.69
Only do not rebel7 against the LORD. And do not be afraid8 of the people of the land,9 because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with10 us.11 Do not be afraid of them."1210
But the whole assembly talked about stoning13 them. Then the glory of the LORD14 appeared at the Tent of Meeting to all the Israelites.
