201My son, observe the commandment of your father And do not forsake the ateaching of your mother ;

For 4the commandment is a lamp and the eteaching is light ; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life24
To 5keep you from the evilwoman, From the smoothtongue of the fadulteress.
256Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her capture you with her 7eyelids.

For 8on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread, And gan adulteress9hunts for the preciouslife.

Can a manhtakefire in his bosom And his clothes not be burned ?
28Or can a manwalk on hot coals And his feet not be scorched ?
29So is the one who 10goes in to his neighbor'swife ; Whoevertouches her 11will not igounpunished.
30jMen do not despise a thiefif he steals To 12satisfykhimselfwhen he is hungry ;

But when he is found, he must 13repaysevenfold ; He must giveall the lsubstance of his house.

The one who commitsadultery with a woman is 14lackingmsense ; He who would 15destroynhimselfdoes it.
33Wounds and disgrace he will find, And his reproach will not be blotted out.

For 16jealousyoenrages a man, And he will not spare in the 17day of vengeance.

He will not pacceptanyransom, Nor will he be qsatisfiedthough you givemanyrgifts.
