beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us-one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection."
And they prayed and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen
And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.
And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language.
And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.
One of them named Agabus stood up and began to indicate by the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine all over the world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius.
When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,
that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.
"Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.
After he had greeted them, he began to relate one by one the things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
Then Paul took the men, and the next day, purifying himself along with them, went into the temple giving notice of the completion of the days of purification, until the sacrifice was offered for each one of them.
But perceiving that one group were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, Paul began crying out in the Council, "Brethren , I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; I am on trial for the hope and resurrection of the dead!"
Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, "Lead this young man to the commander, for he has something to report to him."
other than for this one statement which I shouted out while standing among them, 'For the resurrection of the dead I am on trial before you today.' "
And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, "The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,
