For he himself is our peace,1 who has made the two one2 and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
by abolishing in his flesh3 the law with its commandments and regulations.4 His purpose was to create in himself one5 new man out of the two, thus making peace,
and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross,6 by which he put to death their hostility.
He came and preached peace7 to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.818
For through him we both have access9 to the Father10 by one Spirit.1119
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens,12 but fellow citizens13 with God's people and members of God's household,1420
built15 on the foundation16 of the apostles and prophets,17 with Christ Jesus himself18 as the chief cornerstone.1921
In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple20 in the Lord.
And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.21
