When Joseph'sbrotherssaw that their father was dead, they said, "1What if Josephbears a grudgeagainst us and pays us back in full for all the wrongwhich we did to him!"

So they asent a message to Joseph, saying, "Your fatherchargedbefore he died, saying,
17'Thus you shall say to Joseph, "Pleaseforgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong."' And now, pleaseforgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father." And Josephwept when they spoke to him.

Then his brothersalsocame and 2felldownbefore him and said, "Behold, we are your servants."

But Josephsaid to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in God'splace ?
20
"As for you, 3you meantevilagainst me, but Godmeant it for good in order to bringaboutbthispresent result, to preservemanypeoplealive.
21"So therefore, do not be afraid ; 4I will provide for you and your littleones." So he comforted them and spokeckindly to them.

Now Josephstayed in Egypt, he and his father'shousehold, and Josephlived one hundred and tenyears.
23Josephsaw the third generation of Ephraim'ssons ; also the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were 5born on Joseph'sknees.
24Josephsaid to his brothers, "6I am about to die, but God will surelydtakecare of you and bring you up from thisland to the landwhich He epromised on oath to 7Abraham, to 8Isaac and to 9Jacob."

Then Joseph made the sons of Israelswear, saying, "God will surelyftakecare of you, and 10you shall carry my bones up from here."

So Josephdied at the age of one hundred and tenyears ; and ghe was 11embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt.
