Young's Literal Translation
And of the angels he saith , Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool ?
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent , Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean , sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
Saying , This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Of whom it was said , That in Isaac shall thy seed be called :
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure ; but he for our profit , that we might be partakers of his holiness.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby .
Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
Grace be with you all. Amen . [Written to the Hebrews from Italy, by Timothy.]
