An oracle1 concerning the Valley2 of Vision:3 What troubles you now, that you have all gone up on the roofs,42
O town full of commotion, O city of tumult5 and revelry?6 Your slain7 were not killed by the sword,8 nor did they die in battle.

All your leaders have fled9 together; they have been captured10 without using the bow. All you who were caught were taken prisoner together, having fled while the enemy was still far away.

Therefore I said, "Turn away from me; let me weep11 bitterly. Do not try to console me over the destruction of my people."125
The Lord, the LORD Almighty, has a day13 of tumult and trampling14 and terror15 in the Valley of Vision,16 a day of battering down walls17 and of crying out to the mountains.
