Young's Literal Translation
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled ; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Yea, a man may say , Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect ?
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified , and not by faith only.
Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be .
Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Let him know , that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
