46 And Mary said , My soul doth magnify the Lord, 35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed . 9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good , or to do evil ? to save life, or to destroy it? 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. 27 And he answering said , Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease , eat , drink , and be merry . 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be , which thou hast provided ? 22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat ; neither for the body, what ye shall put on . 23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
