8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? 2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. 34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them , neither knew they the things which were spoken . 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass , then look up , and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh . 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened .
