Young's Literal Translation
But what went ye out for to see ? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold , they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
And the Lord said , Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying , We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced ; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept .
Those by the way side are they that hear ; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved .
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard , go forth , and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection .
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat . And they said , We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
And he from within shall answer and say , Trouble me not: the door is now shut , and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation , because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work : in them therefore come and be healed , and not on the sabbath day.
And, behold , there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled .
