"See, I will send my messenger,1 who will prepare the way before me.2 Then suddenly the Lord3 you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant,4 whom you desire,5 will come," says the LORD Almighty.

But who can endure6 the day of his coming?7 Who can stand8 when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire9 or a launderer's soap.10

He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver;11 he will purify12 the Levites and refine them like gold and silver.13 Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness,14

and the offerings15 of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD, as in days gone by, as in former years.16
