5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it. 6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return ? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. 9 Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me. 2 That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying , Come , let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. 3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying , I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down : why should the work cease , whilst I leave it, and come down to you? 4 Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner. 5 Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand; 8 Then I sent unto him, saying , There are no such things done as thou sayest , but thou feignest them out of thine own heart. 12 And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. 19 Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear . 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way , eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared : for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry ; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. 12 And all the people went their way to eat , and to drink , and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them. 21 Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again , I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.
