14 And I looked , and rose up , and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible , and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. 1 And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews. 63 And of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai, which took one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name. 2 And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding , upon the first day of the seventh month. 3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday , before the men and the women, and those that could understand ; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law. 28 And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers , the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge , and having understanding ; 43 Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced : for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced : so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off. 23 In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab: 26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin .
