1 Have mercy1 on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;2 according to your great compassion3 blot out4 my transgressions.5 2 Wash away6 all my iniquity and cleanse7 me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.8 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned9 and done what is evil in your sight,10 so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.11 5 Surely I was sinful12 at birth,13 sinful from the time my mother conceived me. 6 Surely you desire truth in the inner partsa; you teachb me wisdom14 in the inmost place.15Scripture quoted by permission.
