Young's Literal Translation
When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid ; I am the first and the last,
'But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
'Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first ; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place -unless you repent.
"And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write : The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life, says this :
'I know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first.
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things."
The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle.
The first sounded, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth ; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.
So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth ; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.
The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection ; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth ; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes ; and there will no longer be any death ; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain ; the first things have passed away."
The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper ; the second, sapphire ; the third, chalcedony ; the fourth, emerald ;
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
