15 And the words of the Prophets are in complete harmony with this for it is written,

And to this agree the words of the prophets
In several of the prophecies of the Old Testament, which plainly speak of the calling of the Gentiles; though James thought it sufficient to produce only one instead of many:

as it is written;
in ( Amos 9:11 Amos 9:12 ) and this is agreeably to the Jewish way of citing Scriptures, as Surenhusius observes; so it is said F17, in twenty four places the priests are called Levites, and this is one of them, ( Ezekiel 44:15 ) where only one place is mentioned, instead of the twenty four.

14 Shim'on has told in detail what God did when he first began to show his concern for taking from among the Goyim a people to bear his name.
15 And the words of the Prophets are in complete harmony with this for it is written,
16 '"After this, I will return; and I will rebuild the fallen tent of David. I will rebuild its ruins, I will restore it,
17 so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, that is, all the Goyim who have been called by my name,"
