Joshua 10:15

15 Y'hoshua returned with all Isra'el to the camp at Gilgal.

Joshua 10:15 Meaning and Commentary

Joshua 10:15

And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp
to Gilgal.
] That is, he thought to have returned, had determined upon it, and prepared for it, but was prevented by hearing that the five kings had hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah; which he ordered to be stopped up till the people had finished the pursuit of their enemies, when he destroyed Makkedah, and which led him on to the conquest of other places before he returned; or else this verse stands not in its proper place, or is superfluous, since the same is expressed ( Joshua 10:43 ) ; after all the above mentioned was done; the Septuagint version leaves it out.

Joshua 10:15 In-Context

13 So the sun stood still and the moon stayed put, till Isra'el took vengeance on their enemies.
14 This is written in the book of Yashar. The sun stood still in the sky and was in no rush to set for nearly a whole day. There has never been a day like that before or since, when ADONAI listened to the voice of a man; it happened because ADONAI was fighting on Isra'el's behalf.
15 Y'hoshua returned with all Isra'el to the camp at Gilgal.
16 But those five kings fled and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah,
17 and it was reported to Y'hoshua that the five kings had been found hiding in the cave at Makkedah.
