1
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ,1 set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.22
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.33
For you died,4 and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
4
When Christ, who is youra life,5 appears,6 then you also will appear with him in glory.75
Put to death,8 therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:9 sexual immorality,10 impurity, lust, evil desires and greed,11 which is idolatry.126
Because of these, the wrath of God13 is coming.b7
You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.148
But now you must rid yourselves15 of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander,16 and filthy language from your lips.179
Do not lie to each other,18 since you have taken off your old self19 with its practices
10
and have put on the new self,20 which is being renewed21 in knowledge in the image of its Creator.2211
Here there is no Greek or Jew,23 circumcised or uncircumcised,24 barbarian, Scythian, slave or free,25 but Christ is all,26 and is in all.
12
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves27 with compassion, kindness, humility,28 gentleness and patience.2913
Bear with each other30 and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.3114
And over all these virtues put on love,32 which binds them all together in perfect unity.3315
Let the peace of Christ34 rule in your hearts, since as members of one body35 you were called to peace.36 And be thankful.
16
Let the word of Christ37 dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom,38 and as you sing psalms,39 hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.4017
And whatever you do,41 whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks42 to God the Father through him.
