But now you must rid yourselves1 of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander,2 and filthy language from your lips.39
Do not lie to each other,4 since you have taken off your old self5 with its practices

and have put on the new self,6 which is being renewed7 in knowledge in the image of its Creator.811
Here there is no Greek or Jew,9 circumcised or uncircumcised,10 barbarian, Scythian, slave or free,11 but Christ is all,12 and is in all.

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves13 with compassion, kindness, humility,14 gentleness and patience.1513
Bear with each other16 and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.1714
And over all these virtues put on love,18 which binds them all together in perfect unity.1915
Let the peace of Christ20 rule in your hearts, since as members of one body21 you were called to peace.22 And be thankful.

Let the word of Christ23 dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom,24 and as you sing psalms,25 hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.2617
And whatever you do,27 whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks28 to God the Father through him.
