Then Jehoshaphat's kingdom was quiet, for his God gave him rest on every side.

Jehoshaphat became king over Judah. He was 35 years old when he became king; he reigned 25 years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi.

He walked in the way of Asa his father; he did not turn away from it but did what was right in the Lord's sight.

However, the high places were not taken away; the people had not yet determined in their hearts [to worship] the God of their ancestors.
