Genesis 41:37 Meaning and Commentary

Genesis 41:37

And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh
He approved of the advice Joseph gave, and of the scheme and plan which he proposed: and in the eyes of all his servants;
his nobles, ministers of state and courtiers, all highly commended and applauded it; and it was with the general and unanimous consent of all agreed that it should be put into execution: but then the next question, and the thing to be considered, was, who was a person fit to be engaged in such an affair?

Genesis 41:37 In-Context

35 Let them gather all the [excess] food during these good years that are coming, store the grain under Pharaoh's authority as food in the cities, and preserve [it].
36 The food will be a reserve for the land during the seven years of famine that will take place in the land of Egypt. Then the country will not be wiped out by the famine."
37 The proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants.
38 Then Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find anyone like this, a man who has the spirit of God in him?"
39 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one as intelligent and wise as you.
