Matthew 5:33-37

Listen to Matthew 5:33-37

Tell the Truth

33 "Again, you have heard that it was said to our ancestors, [a] You must not break your oath, but you must keep your oaths to the Lord. [b]
34 But I tell you, don't take an oath at all: either by heaven, because it is God's throne;
35 or by the earth, because it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.
36 Neither should you swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black.
37 But let your word 'yes' be 'yes,' and your 'no' be 'no.' [c] Anything more than this is from the evil one.

Bishop James E. Collins

In this bold and convicting message titled “Liar… Liar, Pants on Fire,” Bishop James E. Collins pulls no punches as he tackles the spiritual dangers of deception — both the lies we tell and the lies we believe. Drawing from Scripture and real-life application, Bishop Collins reveals how dishonesty disrupts relationships, damages our witness, and distances us from God's truth.With clarity, compassion, and conviction, Bishop Collins calls the Church back to integrity, reminding us that God is a God of truth and those who follow Him must walk in truth — even when it costs.

Don't Swear Part 2
Don't Swear Part 2
Jeff Johnson

From the dad who promises his kids he’d take them to the ballgame and doesn’t, to the couple that vows from death do us part but ends up divorcing… many people today don’t take promises or vows seriously.  God certainly does as we’ll hear today on Sound Doctrine.  We’ll hear that it’s important to do what we say we’ll do, and follow through with our vows.  If we can’t do that, don’t swear to begin with!  Join us in Matthew chapter five as we listen in to part two of Jeff Johnson’s message, “Don’t Swear!”
