40
Now, my God, I beseech thee, let thine eyes be open and let thine ears be attentive unto the prayer [that is made] in this place.
41
And now, arise, Jehovah Elohim, into thy resting-place, thou and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, Jehovah Elohim, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in [thy] goodness.
42
Jehovah Elohim, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember mercies to David thy servant.

[a].
Chesed, whence the word Chasid, 'saint' (ver. 41). It is 'goodness' in God, 'piety' in man towards God, or one's parents, 'loving-kindness,' 'mercy.' Christ Himself, as the One in whom these qualities are found, is called Chasid, 'Holy One:' see 2Sam. 22.26; Ps. 89.1-3,19.
