And to this agree the words of the prophets
In several of the prophecies of the Old Testament, which plainly speak of the calling of the Gentiles; though James thought it sufficient to produce only one instead of many:

as it is written;
in ( Amos 9:11 Amos 9:12 ) and this is agreeably to the Jewish way of citing Scriptures, as Surenhusius observes; so it is said F17, in twenty four places the priests are called Levites, and this is one of them, ( Ezekiel 44:15 ) where only one place is mentioned, instead of the twenty four.

14 Simon has related how God first visited to take out of [the] nations a people for his name.
15 And with this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written:
16 After these things I will return, and will rebuild the tabernacle of David which is fallen, and will rebuild its ruins, and will set it up,
17 so that the residue of men may seek out the Lord, and all the nations on whom my name is invoked, saith [the] Lord, who does these things
