Revelation 6:2 DBY

2 And I saw: and behold, a white horse, and he that sat upon it having a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went forth conquering and that he might conquer.

  • a 6:4 - Or 'had been given to him.' It is not expressive of a particular time. He had one which was given him. It is the aorist, as 'went forth.'
  • b 6:4 - Aorist tense, see Note, ver. 2.
  • c 6:7 - The words 'and see' here and vers. 3,5,7, are very doubtful and probably added in some MSS.
  • d 6:8 - See Note, Matt. 11.23.
  • e 6:8 - See Ezek. 14.21.
  • f 6:10 - Lit. 'Until when.'
  • g 6:10 - Despotes, translated 'Lord' in Acts 4.24. Here, 'Sovereign Ruler.'
  • h 6:16 - The aorist.
