34 Und Zadok, der Priester, und Nathan, der Prophet, sollen ihn daselbst zum König über Israel salben; und ihr sollt in die Posaune stoßen und sagen: Es lebe der König Salomo!

1 Kings 1:34

And let Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, anoint him
there king over Israel
For it might be done by either of them, as the unctions of Saul and David show:

and blow ye the trumpet, and say, God save King Solomon;
the blowing of the trumpet was to make it public; the proclamation of him as king was to be made by the sound of it, and the acclamation of the people was to express their concurrence with it, their loyal affection to the new king, and their hearty wishes for his health, prosperity, and long life.

32 Und der König David sprach: Rufet mir Zadok, den Priester, und Nathan, den Propheten, und Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas! Und sie kamen herein vor den König.

33 Und der König sprach zu ihnen: Nehmet die Knechte eures Herrn mit euch, und lasset meinen Sohn Salomo auf meiner Mauleselin reiten, und führet ihn nach Gihon hinab.

34 Und Zadok, der Priester, und Nathan, der Prophet, sollen ihn daselbst zum König über Israel salben; und ihr sollt in die Posaune stoßen und sagen: Es lebe der König Salomo!

35 Und ziehet herauf hinter ihm her, und er komme und setze sich auf meinen Thron! Und er soll König sein an meiner Statt; und ihn habe ich bestellt, daß er Fürst sei über Israel und über Juda.

36 Und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, antwortete dem König und sprach: Amen! Also spreche Jehova, der Gott meines Herrn, des Königs!
