19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens,¹ but fellow citizens² with God's people and members of God's household,³ 20 built⁴ on the foundation⁵ of the apostles and prophets,⁶ with Christ Jesus himself⁷ as the chief cornerstone.⁸ 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple⁹ in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.¹⁰
