His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God1 should be made known2 to the rulers and authorities3 in the heavenly realms,411
according to his eternal purpose5 which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In him and through faith in him we may approach God6 with freedom and confidence.713
I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.
For this reason I kneel8 before the Father,
from whom his whole familya in heaven and on earth derives its name.
I pray that out of his glorious riches9 he may strengthen you with power10 through his Spirit in your inner being,1117
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts12 through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted13 and established in love,
may have power, together with all the saints,14 to grasp how wide and long and high and deep15 is the love of Christ,
and to know this love that surpasses knowledge16--that you may be filled17 to the measure of all the fullness of God.1820
Now to him who is able19 to do immeasurably more than all we ask20 or imagine, according to his power21 that is at work within us,
