Although I am less than the least of all God's people,1 this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles2 the unsearchable riches of Christ,39
and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery,4 which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God5 should be made known6 to the rulers and authorities7 in the heavenly realms,811
according to his eternal purpose9 which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In him and through faith in him we may approach God10 with freedom and confidence.1113
I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.
For this reason I kneel12 before the Father,
from whom his whole familya in heaven and on earth derives its name.
I pray that out of his glorious riches13 he may strengthen you with power14 through his Spirit in your inner being,1517
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts16 through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted17 and established in love,
may have power, together with all the saints,18 to grasp how wide and long and high and deep19 is the love of Christ,
