32
This Jesus
1God raised up,
2and of that we all are witnesses.
33
3Being therefore
4exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from
5the Father
6the promise of the Holy Spirit,
7he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.
34
For
8David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,
9"'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,
35
until I make your enemies your footstool.'
36
Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that
10God has made him
11both Lord and Christ, this Jesus
12whom you crucified."
37
Now when
13they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers,
14what shall we do?"
38
And Peter said to them,
15"Repent and
16be baptized every one of you
17in the name of Jesus Christ
18for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive
19the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39
For
20the promise is for you and
21for your children and for all
22who are far off, everyone
23whom the Lord our God calls to himself."
40
And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying,
24"Save yourselves from this
25crooked generation."
41
So those who received his word were baptized, and
26there were added that day about three thousand souls.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And
27they devoted themselves to the apostles'
28teaching and the
29fellowship, to
30the breaking of bread and the prayers.
