71rooted and 2built up in him and 3established in the faith, just 4as you were taught, abounding 5in thanksgiving.
See to it that no one takes you captive by 6philosophy and 7empty deceit, according to 8human tradition, according to the 9elemental spiritsa of the world, and not according to Christ.
For 10in him the whole fullness of deity dwells 11bodily,
and 12you have been filled in him, who is 13the head of all rule and authority.
In him also 14you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by 15putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
1216having been buried with him in baptism, in which 17you were also raised with him through faith in 18the powerful working of God, 19who raised him from the dead.
1320And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God 21made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
by 22canceling 23the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
1524He disarmed the rulers and authoritiesb and 25put them to open shame, by 26triumphing over them in him.c
Therefore let no one 27pass judgment on you 28in questions of food and drink, or with regard to 29a festival or 30a new moon or a Sabbath.
1731These are a shadow of the things to come, but 32the substance belongs to Christ.
