John 11:21-31

Martha said to 1Jesus, "Lord, 2if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, 3God will give you."
Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
4Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in 5the resurrection on the last day."
Jesus said to her, 6"I am the resurrection and 7the life.[a] Whoever believes in me, 8though he die, 9yet shall he live,
and everyone who lives and believes in me 10shall never die. Do you believe this?"
She said to him, "Yes, Lord; 11I believe that 12you are the Christ, the Son of God, 13who is coming into the world."

Jesus Weeps

When she had said this, she went and called her sister Mary, saying in private, 14"The Teacher is here and is calling for you."
And when she heard it, she rose quickly and went to him.
Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha had met him.
When the Jews 15who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary rise quickly and go out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there.
