John 17:14-24

14 ¹I have given them your word, and ²the world has hated them ³because they are not of the world, ⁴just as I am not of the world.

15 I ⁵do not ask that you ⁶take them out of the world, but that you ⁷keep them from ⁸the evil one.^[a]

16 ⁹They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

17 ¹⁰Sanctify them^[b] in the truth; ¹¹your word is truth.

18 ¹²As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

19 And ¹³for their sake ¹⁴I consecrate myself,^[c] that they also ¹⁵may be sanctified^[d] in truth.

20 "I do not ¹⁶ask for these only, but also for those ¹⁷who will believe in me through their word,

21 ¹⁸that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that ¹⁹they also may be in ²⁰us, so that the world ²¹may believe that you have sent me.

22 ²²The glory that you have given me ²³I have given to them, ²⁴that they may be one even as we are one,

23 ²⁵I in them and you in me, ²⁶that they may become perfectly one, ²⁷so that the world may know that you sent me and ²⁸loved them even as ²⁹you loved me.

24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be ³⁰with me ³¹where I am, ³²to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me ³³before the foundation of the world.
