46 And Mary said, 1"My 2soul 3magnifies the Lord, 47 4and my 5spirit rejoices in 6God my Savior, 48 for 7he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations 8will call me blessed; 49 for 9he who is mighty 10has done great things for me, and 11holy is his name. 50 And 12his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. 51 13He has shown strength with his arm; 14he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; 52 15he has brought down the mighty from their thrones 16and exalted those of humble estate; 53 he has filled 17the hungry with good things, and the rich 18he has sent away empty. 54 He has 19helped 20his servant Israel, 21in remembrance of his mercy, 55 22as he spoke to our fathers, 23to Abraham and to his offspring forever."The English Standard Version is published with the permission of Good News Publishers.
