Luke 24:45-53

Then 1he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
and said to them, "Thus 2it is written, 3that the Christ should suffer and on the third day 4rise from the dead,
and that 5repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed 6in his name 7to all nations, 8beginning from Jerusalem.
9You are witnesses of these things.
And behold, I am sending 10the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you 11are clothed with 12power 13from on high."

The Ascension

Then 14he led them out as far as 15Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.
While he blessed them, 16he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
And they 17worshiped him and 18returned to Jerusalem 19with great joy,
and 20were continually in the temple 21blessing God.
