35 ¹And James and John, ²the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us ³whatever we ask of you."

Mark 10:35

And James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, came unto him,
&c.] Along with their mother, who was their mouth, and spoke for them, and they by her:

saying, master, we would that thou shouldst do for us whatsoever we
shall desire:
that is, we earnestly desire, that whereas we have a favour to ask of thee, that thou wouldst not deny us it, be it what it will; (See Gill on Matthew 20:20).

36 And he said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?"

37 And they said to him, "Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory."
