Mark 13:27-37

27 And then 1he will send out the angels and 2gather 3his elect from 4the four winds, from 5the ends of the earth 6to the ends of heaven.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

28 "From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.
29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, 7at the very gates.
30 8Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
31 9Heaven and earth will pass away, but 10my words will not pass away.

No One Knows That Day or Hour

32 "But concerning that day or that hour, 11no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, 12nor the Son, 13but only the Father.
33 14Be on guard, 15keep awake.[a] For you do not know when the time will come.
34 16It is like a man 17going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants[b] in charge, 18each with his work, and commands 19the doorkeeper to stay awake.
35 20Therefore stay awake--for you do not know when the master of the house will come, 21in the evening, or 22at midnight, or 23when the rooster crows,[c] or 24in the morning--
36 lest 25he come suddenly and 26find you asleep.
37 And what I say to you I say to all: 27Stay awake."
