1
O God, 1you have rejected us, 2broken our defenses; you have been angry; 3oh, restore us.
2
You have made the land to quake; you have torn it open; 4repair its breaches, for it totters.
35You have made your people see hard things; 6you have given us 7wine to drink that made us stagger.
4
You have set up 8a banner for those who fear you, that they may flee to it 9from the bow.a Selah
510That your 11beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer us!
6
God has spoken 12in his holiness:b "With exultation 13I will divide up 14Shechem and portion out the Vale of 15Succoth.
716Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; 17Ephraim is 18my helmet; Judah is my 19scepter.
820Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I 21cast my shoe; over 22Philistia I shout in triumph."c9
Who will bring me to the fortified city? 23Who will lead me to Edom?
10
Have you not 24rejected us, O God? You 25do not go forth, O God, with our armies.
11
Oh, grant us help against the foe, for 26vain is the salvation of man!
12
With God we shall 27do valiantly; it is he who will 28tread down our foes.
