went to war against Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim,1 and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar).23
All these latter kings joined forces in the Valley of Siddim3 (the Salt Seaa4).
For twelve years they had been subject to Kedorlaomer,5 but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
In the fourteenth year, Kedorlaomer6 and the kings allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites7 in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites8 in Shaveh Kiriathaim
and the Horites9 in the hill country of Seir,10 as far as El Paran11 near the desert.
Then they turned back and went to En Mishpat (that is, Kadesh),12 and they conquered the whole territory of the Amalekites,13 as well as the Amorites14 who were living in Hazazon Tamar.15
