25 But if you go on doing what is evil, you and your king will be wiped out."

1 Samuel 12:25 Meaning and Commentary

1 Samuel 12:25

But if ye shall still do wickedly
Continue to rebel against God, revolt from him, and depart from his worship, and despise his prophets, and serve idols:

ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king;
their king would be so far from protecting, that he should perish with them, be killed by the sword, as Saul their first king was, or go into captivity, as others of their kings did.

1 Samuel 12:25 In-Context

23 It would be unthinkable for me to sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. I will go on teaching you the way that is good and right.
24 Fear the LORD, and serve him sincerely. Consider the great things he did for you.
25 But if you go on doing what is evil, you and your king will be wiped out."
