Ezekiel 3:4

4 He said to me, "Son of man, go to the people of Israel, and speak my words to them.

Ezekiel 3:4 Meaning and Commentary

Ezekiel 3:4

And he said unto me, son of man, go
After he had eaten the roll; for then was he qualified to prophesy: get thee unto the house of Israel;
to whom he was to prophesy: and speak with my words unto them:
not with his own words; nor with the words of men, the enticing words of man's wisdom; but with the words of Christ; with the taught words of the Holy Ghost; with what is written in the roll; the words of this prophecy are meant. So the Targum,

``and thou shalt prophesy the words of my prophecy unto them;''
in like manner John after he had eaten the little book, is told that he must prophesy before many people, nations, tongues, and kings, ( Revelation 10:9-11 ) ; though Ezekiel was only sent to one nation, as follows:

Ezekiel 3:4 In-Context

2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.
3 He said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I'm giving you, and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.
4 He said to me, "Son of man, go to the people of Israel, and speak my words to them.
5 I am not sending you to people whose language is hard to understand or difficult to speak. I am sending you to Israel.
6 I am not sending you to nations whose language is hard to understand, difficult to speak, or whose words you cannot understand. If I send you to those nations, they will certainly listen to you.
